Hi there! We’re Richard and Mikey, the two-person team behind Downtown Doggies: Dog Walking & Cat Sitting in/around Downtown Portland, Oregon* (*more info on our service area here).

We are committed to providing individual care tailored to your pet’s needs. No overwhelming pack walks. No sad, stressed out dogs lost in a sea of tangled leashes. No neglected kitties. No rotating staff of strangers entering your home. Just your pet and us—having the best time on our indoor/outdoor adventure! We value quality of care over quantity of clients.

We prioritize earning and keeping your trust. Leaving your home and loved one to a stranger is a big deal, whether it’s for a drop-in visit or overnight pet sitting. We understand that. For this reason, insurance and bonding is our baseline from which to do more. This includes a time-stamped, GPS-mapping tool to track routes for dog walks and check-ins for cat sittings. It also includes regular updates with photos and notes via text message and email.

We strive to infuse our eco-friendly values into our pet care services by commuting 100% by bike, using biodegradable/recycled-plastic pet waste bags, and even printing our business cards on recycled paper and powering our website with renewable energy.

During our 10 years in pet care, we have cared for hundreds of pups and kitties—as though each were our own fur family. It is in the memory of our fur families, our childhood dogs Macky the Cocker Spaniel-Lhasa Apso and Kaley the Smooth-Haired Miniature Dachshund, that Downtown Doggies is dedicated.

Our service area is primarily Downtown Portland, Oregon and its bordering neighborhoods on the west side. We are not able to serve the outer limits furthest from Downtown. See below for areas we generally do and don’t cover.
